My Mission

The purpose of this blog is to document my progress to complete mastery of the branch of baking known as puff-pastry. My plan is to make it as many times as possible within my time limit (about 4 months), and hope that my skills improve to the point that I can call myself a "master" of puff pastry. 

More About Me

I'm a student at Western Technical Commercial School, in the grade 11 gifted program. My love of baking, which has been blossoming since I was in elementary school, is what spurred my decision to choose puff pastry for this blog. The other thing that pushed towards this decision was my enjoyment of baking shows, mainly the Great British Bake-Off. Seeing all of these amateur bakers take in all this knowledge of something that they love unconditionally was very inspiring to me. I consider myself to a sweet tooth. Whether it's cake, or pie, or cookies, or tarts, I will love it all. With this exploration into puff pastry, I hope to gain a further understanding of baking, to point where I can make the things that I love to eat with maximum efficiency, speed, and quality. Overall, I'm a pretty lazy person, who doesn't like being told what to do, or doing anything generally. Now I'm going to rifle off some facts about myself.

 

  • Outside of baked goods, my favourite foods are flank steak, sushi, and fried chicken.

  • My philosophy is "If you don't have to do it, don't, and if you do, get it over with". 

  • I have two brothers, one older, one younger

  • I love to read

  • My favourite movie is Spiderman: Into the the Spider-Verse

  • I won't eat anything with Coconut or Raisins in it
